Living for the weekend

March 4, 2018

Are you living for the weekend?

Recently I took the train to Zurich to see a client. Opposite me sat a young woman, probably 20ish years old wearing a sweatshirt with the logo: “Living for the weekend.” Her face expressionless or fixated on her smart phone. Her whole body language showed the physiognomy of impossibility! You know that expression you get when you are looking out for a service and you feel you’re are disturbing the receptionist or the sales assistant.

Who am I to judge what she might been through, however, the point I am trying to make is this: If you are living for the weekend only, you are wasting 2/3 of your life. You are dead or on autopilot Monday to Friday. How does that feel if you read this?

If you change the course of a ship by 1 degree only you will end up at a completely different destination. If you are changing your perspective only slightly, you will discover there is more life has to offer than weekends. I invite you to question your course and make adjustments where needed. Live now, throw limitations over board, lift the anchor and start exploring. Wave good-bye to a world trying to force her beliefs on you. Life can be shorter than one thinks. Live as someone left the gate open.
