How to EAT an aeroplane!

March 19, 2018

Sounds crazy right? Impossible! And still, Michel Lotito, a French gentleman ate a Cessna aircraft over the span of 2 years. (Google, if you don’t believe it). He broke the objects he ate down into small pieces and washed them down with mineral oil and water. Crazy, right?

I certainly have chosen a different diet however I think there is a lesson in what he did.

All too often ideas or projects are considered crazy or impossible and still if broken down into small “bitesize” actions, they can be achieved over a certain timespan. It’s the small gains principle or the additional marginal gains as Sir David Brailsford put it that make all the difference in the long run.

3 tactical actions you want to take:

  1. Believe in your idea however crazy. Don’t listen to the naysayers calling your idea “impossible”, they’re only envious of your energy.
  2. Break your project down into small “bitesize” pieces and execute those flawlessly. Build on successes, learn from failures.
  3. Most important: Start now! More motivation and energy will come once you go along. There is never a better time, or the right time, than NOW.

Bon appetite!
